I first took this course as a participant with a teacher called Carmel Sheridan in Galway. I had been meditating for over ten years. And yet I was stunned at how practical and powerful the MBSR course was. That led to three years of study on how to teach the course well. Since then I have facilitated over 200 people in their journey through the MBSR program.

The impact it has varies from person to person. It does require a lot of commitment. But it can lead to a transformation in the way daily life is experienced and especially in how we think about and treat ourselves. What’s MBSR?

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a renowned 8 week programme developed by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Centre for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts Medical School. The program gives participants a thorough grounding in mindfulness practice and the skills to be able to integrate mindfulness into everyday life. It involves eight evening classes plus one Saturday workshop.
